The Arc de Triomf in Barcelona is close to many of our Barcelona apartments. It was built as the exposition entrance for Barcelona's Universal Exhibition in 1888. It sits between Passeig Luis Companys and Passeig de Sant Joan, convenient for Barcelona apartments throughout the city.
The Arc de Triomf was designed by architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas, and is built from colorful red brickwork in mudéjar, or Moorish revival, style. It adopts the modernisme seen around many of our Barcelona apartments. The Arc is part of the view from several Barcelona apartments.
The Arc de Triomf is easily found from many of our Barcelona apartments using Line 1 to Arc de Triomf Metro station.
Just like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, Barcelona's Arc de Triomf is covered with carved friezes and sculptures. One of them shows the city of Barcelona welcoming visitors, just as you will be welcomed to our Barcelona apartments. The Arc de Triomf also features twelve statues of women, which are said to symbolise fame, just as we are famous for our Barcelona apartments.
At the top of the arch is the city's coat of arms and motifs from the 49 other Spanish provinces, several of them reachable on day trips from Barcelona apartments. Arc de Triomf Railway Station is located close to the Arc, in easy reach of many Barcelona apartments. It has routes into Catalonia and further afield to Girona, Madrid and Seville which make pleasant day or two-day trips if you are based in one of our Barcelona apartments.
Next to the Arc de Triomf Railway Station is the bus station at Estació del Nord, also very convenient for many Barcelona apartments. It is situated between Passeig de Lluís Companys and Carrer N?pols, close to a number of Barcelona apartments. Several buses run to Arc de Triomf from the Ramblas serving our Barcelona apartments near by.
Passeig de Lluís Companys and Passeig de Sant Joan form a wide promenade which connect with the Park of the Ciutadella, one of Barcelona's favourite recreational spaces and convenient for many of our Barcelona apartments. En route to the Parc, take in the magnificent Palau de Justicia on Passeig Luis Companys, which is close to several of our Barcelona apartments.
The Parc de Ciutadella is a formal park with a museum, a lake and a zoo. It is also home to the Barcelona legislature which is worth a visit if you are staying in one of our Barcelona apartments. The Parc de Ciutadella is in easy walking distance of the Barri Gotic and our Barcelona apartments there.
The Park of the Ciutadella was built on the former site of a Bourbon fortress, and is easily reachable from our Barcelona apartments throughout the city via Metro line 4 and the 41 and 42 bus services from Placa de Catalunya and 14 from the Ramblas and our Barcelona apartments there.
The winding paths of the Parc de Ciutadella lead south toward Barceloneta and the beach, making it convenient for our Barcelona apartments there.
